“Blowing in the wind” is a famous song of pacifist content written in 1962 by Bob Dylan, an American singer that in 2016 won the Nobel prize for literature. The author wrote the song about the war when he was only 21 years, based by a song of African-American slaves .  Bob Dylan , in his song, says:

The answer is in the refrain of the song and leaves a glimmer to the optimism, it’s “blowing in the wind”.

In the words of the song , we find wish of peace, tolerance, dialogue and we are pushed to consider the “ others” not as enemies, but those who are accepted , respected, helped.

This song makes us think about the many people who are oppressed by war in their countries  and ask us for asylum by appealing to our spirit of brotherhood and to our welcome; they wish to find again their “home” and have a better future.

But, as another great defender of civil rights, M. L. King , said:

“We have learned to fly the air like birds, we have learned to swim in the seas like fish and yet we haven’t learned to walk the earth as brothers and  sisters”
